As the power demand hits the peak, summer time is always a challenging period in the Middle East. MAPNA Group’s newly commercialized power generating products based on the MGT-30, 40 and 70(3) gas turbines have successfully got behind the severe conditions of the hot summer 2019.
A moveable MGT-30 unit with new features in combustion and control systems had been put into service in the Iranian south-east city of Saravan since mid-June. At the same days, and close to the same region, the first unit of MGT-40 power package started to steadily feed the national grid in Zahedan. The 42-MW plant is a newly developed set of products by MAPNA Group, with a wide range of applications in different industrial sectors.
Another important achievement on the new products was successful performance of the brand new MGT-70(3) machines during the same period in Rumaila Power Plant near Basra. Units 5 & 6 of the plant with this new version ran smoothly over the summer peak, while had achieved and officially recorded the amazing figures of 185 MW output and 36.3% efficiency as translated to the standard ISO conditions. The whole fleet of this new product in action now counts to 10 units, with nearly 100k cumulative EOH.
