Basra Governor Visits MAPNA-Built Rumaila Power Plant

Asaad Al Eidani, Governor of Basra Province, paid a visit to Rumaila power plant project last week.
Mr. Eidani’s visit to the 3000-MW power plant which is under construction by MAPNA Group took place on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
The visit started with a presentation on the history of MAPNA Group’s projects in Iraq and report on progress in construction of Rumaila Power Plant, the largest in the history of Iraq’s power industry in terms of investment.
Addressing the high demand for electricity in Iraq, Mr. Eidani expressed satisfaction with progress of the project and stressed the importance of the Rumaila Power Plant.
The Governor of Basra also called for direct collaboration between MAPNA Group and the BasraGovernorate on projects including water desalination, urban rail transit, and simple cycle to combined cycle conversion of power plants.
