Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to MAPNA Group factories today.
Zarif, along with a delegation of senior officials from the Foreign Ministry, took a 3-hour tour of MAPNA Group industrial complex located on the outskirts of Karaj, west of Tehran on Tuesday, on May 08, 2018.
MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi received Zarif and his delegation in MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA) on their arrival. “MAPNA is ready to offer strategic solutions for Iran’s industrial sector” Aliabadi said during his welcome speech.
MAPNA VP Alireza Yazdizadeh introduced MAPNA Group’s trajectory and industrial profile for the visiting diplomat, highlighting the conglomerate’s technological milestones in power, oil & gas, and rail transportation sector. “MAPNA has now pivoted towards indigenization of knowhow” he said.
Foreign Minister Javad Zarif praised the group’s achievements in his speech for MAPNA staff. “MAPNA Group’s accomplishments are the fruit of Iran’s endogenous development and power” Zarif said. “Vying against international competitors becomes meaningful within this concept of endogenous development”.
Zarif called MAPNA Group the pride of the Iranian nation and addressed his ministry’s plans to promote a resilient, non-oil-oriented economy through the newly established Economic Diplomacy Department. “Iran’s embassies will help Iranian businesses in investment and technology transfer” he stated.
The visit continued with Foreign Minister’s tour of three MAPNA factories, MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA), MAPNA Turbine Blade Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARTO), and MAPNA Generator Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARS), where the foreign minister was introduced to MAPNA Group’s key industrial products including gas and steam turbines, turbine hot section blades, generators and electric motors and wind turbines.
