MAPNA Group President Abbas Aliabadi hosted Ambassador of the Republic of Italy Mauro Conciatori on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
Mr. Conciatori, who was accompanied by commercial advisor of the Italian Embassy in Tehran Carmelo Ficarra, was received by MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi in the company’s central office in Mirdamad Boulevard, Tehran.
An overview of MAPNA Group’s history, projects and achievements was presented for the ambassador of Italy before the two sides discussed prospects of industrial collaboration.
Referring to the two-decade history of partnership between MAPNA Group and Italian industries in the power sector, Aliabadi expressed hope that relations expand in near future.
Aliabadi pointed to TUGA-Franco Tosi Meccanica, the joint venture between MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company and Franco Tosi Meccanica formed in December 2015, as an example of successful collaboration between MAPNA and Italian industrial companies.
Facilitation of financial transactions between Italian and Iranian banks is a key factor in expansion of these partnerships, MAPNA Group president added.
Italian ambassador Mauro Conciatori also pointed to the historical ties between Iranian and Italian companies and expressed hope that any hurdles in the way of expansion of ties be removed in near future.
Conciatori stressed Italian companies’ interest to engage in various lines of business in Iran, including power, oil & gas, and rail transportation. Such collaborations served the interests of both Iranian and Italian companies and were beneficial for the region and its social stability, he said.
