MAPNA Renewable Energies Generation Company and Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) have signed a twenty-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

The agreement regards purchase of power from the 2 MW solar power plant in Kahak, 200 kilometers northwest of Tehran.

A 30% incentive in power purchase price was granted to MAPNA as an incentive aimed to support indigenization and manufacturing of renewable energy equipment inside the country.

Kahak, which is MAPNA’s first solar power station, is constructed by MAPNA Renewable Energies Generation Company and MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO). The groundbreaking ceremony, held on March 12, 2017, was attended by Minister of Power Hamid Chitchian. The solar farm will come into operation in the first half of the new Persian year (March 2017-September 2017).
